Nuclear News Network

MCP server · the nuclear buildout as a knowledge graph

Getting started

Connect a client

Setup for each supported client. OAuth clients need only the URL; static-header clients use an API key.

Claude

  1. In Claude (web or desktop) open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Nuclear News Network and paste the server URL https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp.
  3. Click Connect, sign in to NNN, then Allow access. Claude registers itself through OAuth; there is no key to paste.
  4. Enable the connector in a chat from the + menu and ask: “Who are the shareholders of Sizewell C?”

Claude Code

Add the server, then run /mcp inside Claude Code and pick nnn → Authenticate to finish OAuth in your browser.

terminal
claude mcp add --transport http nnn https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode (until the NNN listing is approved in the directory).
  2. Choose Create, name it Nuclear News Network, paste https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp and pick OAuth authentication.
  3. Sign in to NNN and Allow access. ChatGPT can then use NNN in chats and deep research through the search and fetch tools.

Grok

grok.com: open Connectors → New connector → Custom, paste https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp and complete sign-in. On Business and Enterprise plans an admin adds the connector first.

xAI API: pass NNN as a remote MCP tool with an API key in authorization.

xAI Responses API
curl https://api.x.ai/v1/responses \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $XAI_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "'"$GROK_MODEL"'",
    "input": "Which reactor units is Westinghouse building, and who owns Westinghouse?",
    "tools": [{
      "type": "mcp",
      "server_url": "https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp",
      "server_label": "nnn",
      "authorization": "Bearer '"$NNN_API_KEY"'"
    }]
  }'

opencode

Add NNN under mcp in opencode.json. On first use opencode gets the 401, registers itself and opens your browser to sign in; or run opencode mcp auth nnn. To use an API key instead, set "oauth": false and add "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer {env:NNN_API_KEY}" }.

opencode.json
{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "nnn": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}

Cursor

Add NNN to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project). Cursor also supports OAuth: omit headers and it will open the sign-in page.

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nnn": {
      "url": "https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer nnn_live_…"
      }
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add a workspace server in .vscode/mcp.json. VS Code discovers the OAuth server and prompts you to sign in on first use.

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "nnn": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Other clients

Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP can connect to https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp with OAuth or an API key. For stdio-only clients, bridge with mcp-remote:

stdio bridge
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nnn": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "mcp-remote",
        "https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp",
        "--header",
        "Authorization: Bearer ${NNN_API_KEY}"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Test with curl

With an API key you can call the endpoint directly. List the tools:

terminal
curl -s https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NNN_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}'

Call one:

terminal
curl -s https://mcp.nuclearnewsnetwork.com/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NNN_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_entities","arguments":{"query":"Sizewell"}}}'
